Commit to Care at One of the Nation’s Largest Health-Focused Colleges

Improving health and providing health care to communities takes many hands and hearts — it is a very “human-to-human” endeavor. Our collective challenge is to leverage technological advancements and progress to make the most of them without losing that spirit of “care.”

It requires a thoughtful effort to think bigger about health.

That’s where you come in.

During your educational experiences with us, you’ll contribute your time and talents in ways that are unique to you through your choice of major and focus areas. You’ll also learn how to lend your individual skills to help move health care forward through collaborative, interdisciplinary efforts.

You’ll be prepared to serve communities, big and small, and to join a thriving 21st century workforce busy creating scalable solutions to solve today’s biggest health challenges while creating positive health outcomes across Ohio and the world.

Ready to commit to care?

Serve. Solve. Succeed.

Now more than ever, we recognize that health is much bigger and more complex than simply treating disease. Health impacts every facet of life, from the economy to education. At Ohio University's College of Health Sciences and Professions, we’re one of the nation’s largest health-focused colleges. But more importantly, our innovative approach to addressing health — what affects it, who provides it and how to improve it — is big.

Our experiential and interdisciplinary approach prepares CHSP students for careers as tomorrow’s best nurses, social workers, nutritionists, sports trainers, physical therapists, hospital administrators and more. And, as a leader in population health, we embrace community partnerships to build collaborative, scalable solutions capable of meeting the era’s biggest crises and challenges.

We teach students to think big while not losing sight of the details, so they can build practical solutions that meaningfully improve health outcomes, from the front lines of a major city trauma unit to the most remote corners of Appalachia — one person and one community at a time.
